Prairie Queen Pattern Company was established by its primary designer, Nancy Harcourt. Nancy’s design objective for her company is to explore the gap between very traditional quilt design and contemporary quilt art.

Nancy has been a seamstress all her life, and there was a time when she sewed all her clothes, including tailored coats and formal wear. Over the years, her interest in sewing began to shift from clothing to decor. In the 1990s she discovered quilting, and she’s been hooked ever since. She loves to design and make quilts because the experience of working with color and pattern is meditative for her and gives her an outlet for expressing her creative nature.
